Advantages: Easy to listen to, while still retaining meaning and depth Disadvantages: Some tracks either wash over you, or you wash over them
...This album is cool. And that's the only appropriate word. At first I thought it was going to be quite similar to 'Tales of Kidd Funkadelic' (with long, progressive church influenced funk riffs), but after track one, it turns into like...a blues:funk hybrid. It's awesome. The blues is awesome. Funk is awesome.
What I loved is the organic, natural sound that it encompasses. Many Like-minded groups have tried to do what Funkadelic have done here, and had an end product of government issued, generic beats. 'Free your mind...', on the other hand, does quite the opposite. This is simply what Funkadelic does best.
However, it's not all sunshine and picnics. The end track, 'Eulogy and light', while interesting and thought provoking, did not ahve the initial appeal to me as the rest of the album did. Now I am sure it is there for a purpose...

Advantages: good heavy fast songs - good price Disadvantages: songs can be repetative
...i bought this albumb a few months ago after listening to a friends album also by afi. It was alot heavyier than i expeced but still a good buy. Many of the tracks are catchy and full of great guitar riffs. the singing is a little of track but still ok. Sadly a few of the tracks have had less thought put into it and become repetative but at a decent price its worth it . I would recomend this to any afi fans or heavier rock fans but if youre looking to buy a afi album i suggest to buy sing the sorrow and if you like that then this if you like it. Basicly is full of fast entertaining guitar though out and a good buy for fans....

Advantages: A better album than the last, good lyrics and music Disadvantages: Some may find offensive in places

‘Take Off Your Pants and Jacket’ is the new album, and I had it delivered on my door a couple of days after release, ordered from CD-WOW.com (see op) for just £8.99. I have the limited edition CD, but I know that there are quite a few of them! I think the unlimited version does not have the two bonus tracks, and perhaps the fantastic sleeve the CD comes in.
On the strength of hearing just one song, ‘The Rock Show’ I knew that Blink 182 were continuing along the lines of their last album, and that was a good thing. After listening to their latest release a few times, I think it is clear that they have progressed musically, producing what seems...
