Advantages: It's a very entertaining set of songs Disadvantages: Perhaps not to everyone's taste... but then what is?
...a man who can't believe that the beautiful woman he's dining with really does fancy him! It's beautifully sung by Russ, who gives this sultry ballad everything he's got.
"In The Future" - a bracing, fast, high pitched rock number about - you've guessed it - the future! "We'll need some vintage vino, so wash your feet and stamp away"! It's the sort of song Franz Ferdinand would sing nowadays. Fun and different. With a sudden "tapey" kind of a noise (as if someone's pressed a vital switch in the recording studio) we are suddenly transported from the Future to the Past and...
..."Looks, Looks, Looks" - this is a contender for my favourite song of all time. Tony Visconti's big band arrangement is absolutely spot on - half close your eyes and you're in a smoky nightclub in 1945. The lyrics are ace - the song is a sort of upbeat lament...

Advantages: Thought-provoking lyrics, beautiful voice, excellent musical accompaniment Disadvantages: Some songs may be too sad or too deep for some listeners
...; other times it is humorous. Mitchell is a genius with similes and metaphors!
The final two tracks are also quite touching. "Trouble Child" is a song to give us thought of what it would be like to spend some time in a mental hospital. How many of us have contemplated suicide at some point or felt that we simply could not go on? If you are among one of us, this song will hold a special place in your heart. The narrator of this tune is brilliant and troubled, yet she does not realize the depth of her illness. She's able to outsmart her parents and, ultimately, her psychiatrist - or at least she thinks she has.
I cannot recommend this album enough to those who enjoy serious material beautifully presented...

Advantages: Totally different to what they usually do making it a forever classic Disadvantages: If you don't like acoustic guitars, this ain't for you...

It starts off with a brilliant sounding guitar playing a chord slowly twice. Then the song really gets going and features a simple acoustic guitar riff and a set of chords that is very easy to play. It includes sets of string instruments and a vocalist that all mixes together very well.
Most of Green Day's songs I like and when I saw this I knew that I had to get it. I loved the great sound straight from the start until the end when I decided to put the CD on repeat. Any fan of acoustical music should buy this. If you're put off by Green Day's other songs then bare in mind that this is quite different to what they usually do.
This song, Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) is featured...
