Advantages: A strong return from an underrated band Disadvantages: Still not quite reaching their full potential......
"Kill Your Own" is the third studio album from British hard-rock band Hundred Reasons, following the unprecedented success of debut release "Ideas Above Out Station" and it's follow-up "Shatterproof Is Not A Challenge". Released in early 2006, it is the band's first album since their change to the label V2 Music.
Many people felt that the band's follow-up from their debut album was somewhat of a let down considering the success of "Ideas Above Our Station" that broke them out of the underground and into the mainstream, so with that in mind, many people awaited for this album with baited breath, to see if the band could return to successful ways, or whether or not their debut was a mere fluke......
Opening track "Broken Hands" starts things off excellently, and from a personal point of view, out does more or less every track off ...
Advantages: Good tracks, bonus material Disadvantages: A few too many mixes
Have already rated the previous album (put your hands up vol.1) and many of my points apply to this album aswell. After continually listening to the first album i decided to buy this one aswell and again i was not disappointed.
There is again a brilliant mix of tracks over 3 CD's including several remixes and club mixes such as that of Camille Jonesvs Fedded le Grande-The Creeps (club mix). This i believe to be one of the best but there are 62 other tunes that you will just want to get up and dance to.
Again, as like the previous album there is bonus content on CD1 including 3 awesomw music videos including Fedde Le Grande-Put your hands up and Alex Gaudino-Destination Calabria. This is a really nice touch to the album and makes it a real gem. ...
Advantages: Some great songs Disadvantages: A couple of less memorable tracks
him. This track is laced with expletives and is definitely not for innocent ears.
Tracks 6 and 8, Shotgun Blues and Pretty Tied Up, would have been better suited to the Use Your Illusion 1 album, with its similarities to Appetite For Destruction.
Tracks 7 and 9, Breakdown and Locomotive, are both over six minutes in length and both take you on a musical journey through their respective tales of morality. The instrumental work on both tracks is exquisite and the lyrics are genius.
I found it hard to tell tracks 10 and 11, So Fine and Estranged, apart. They are both ballads and both very pleasant and emotional - if not too memorable.
Track 12, You Could Be Mine, was used on the soundtrack to the Terminator II film and is, in my opinion, the best up-tempo song from the band since Appetite For Destruction.
Track 13, Don ...
