...My wife bought me this as a present some time ago and it has remained a firm favourite, hardly ever out of the car CD player. I loved the jumping, dancing bright beat of the single 'This Love' , delightful melodies and unforgettable hooks permeate this album and none more so than in 'This Love'. The first track is a driving rhythm-led tune leading you straight into 'This Love' leaving you in no doubt that a decent album is about to unfold in front of your ears. 'Shiver' comes in with strong lead guitar and a staccato rhythm emphasising the rock roots combined with really good song-composition. This is well-complemented with the slower track 'She will be loved' which will have you singing the haunting hook, enticing it from your throat before you have even realised that you are singing aloud. Advantages: 17 Tracks, some brilliant, full of skill, passion, thought and deeper meanings. Nice inlay.
Disadvantages: Some tracks aren’t so good, some explicit lyrics, political messages, oh well, it’s the Manics! What do you expect? Also I cannot find an inspired anthem that I will go back to in years and years time.

...Manics fans have waited a long time after “The Masses Against The Classes” (Limited Edition single) for their next release, but “Know Your Enemy” is finally here, boasting a generous 17 tracks (including the hidden one). In case you don’t know, the Manic Street Preachers are a Welsh band of 3, James Dean Bradfield (vocals), Sean Moore (drums) and Nicky Wire (umm???). They are undoubtedly one of the best bands of the 90s, with hits like “If You Tolerate This Your Children Will be Next”, “Design For Life” and “Everything Must Go”, and of course, a song called “Motorcycle Emptiness” which was released before they were popular. Advantages: Good rhythms to do the housework to, some excellent songs
Disadvantages: Some songs will appeal to some and not to others.

...had heard previously and many of which were favourites when I was younger. There are some definite 80s classics in there. Most of the songs have very catchy beats that get you moving and you can't stop singing along. Housework is definetly not one of my favourite pastimes but listening to this CD makes it more enjoyable and helps pass the time. I would recommend it if you like to listen to music while you work or just want a CD of some great songs to listen to at anytime. Cost ---------- £12.99 from Amazon, I think it's a good price for a double CD with some amazing songs.
