2000. I?d heard from someone I knew that Matchbox Twenty were a pretty decent band and so, with a few quid to spare in my pocket, I wandered into HMV one day and left with both Matchbox Twenty?s albums. Strangely enough, it wasn?t this album that immediately appealed to me. ?Mad Season? with its? strange lyrics and smoother, less angry sounding vocals was the one that was played the most frequently. This album got a couple of listens and then, like an older sibling, had to sit back whilst all the attention was focused on the new arrival. But, unlike most children, it sat patiently and waited. And waited? It wasn?t until the spring of last year, when I booked tickets to the big Bon Jovi gig at Milton Keynes that this album got a look in. Yourself or someone like you will like this

Advantages: Great, Easy to Listen to and totally enjoyable
Disadvantages: Not that many people in the Uk have heard of them

I first came into contact with Matchbox20 when I was an Au Pair in the US. I went through a stage over of buying all this American Music so that I could show my pals what I had when I got home. I never thought about how I was going to get all the CD's home. But thats another story. The song that was in the American charts was Push and I instantly liked them because they were totally different form anybody else I was listening to at the time. Matchbox 20 are made up of Rob Thomas, Kyle Cook, Adam Gaynor, Brian Yale and Paul Doucette. Rob Thomas is the lead singer and is totally lovely to look at. Their style is kinda Rock a little bit like Bon Jovi I always thought. Their songs are catchy and easy to sing to. This album itsself is the first one that I bought and it included the following songs: 1) Real Word 2) Long Day 3) 3AM ...

Trust me you'll like this.....

Advantages: An excellent album
Disadvantages: none!

Did I say I'm going to see Matchbox20 in March? Well in anticipation of this event I thought it would be a good idea to start listening to their last two CD's - "Mad Season" (2000) and "More than you think you are" ( 2002) as with all good intentions I ended up listening to my favourite album of theirs "Yourself or Someone Like You" again! You know how you get a new CD plonk it into the CD player and suddenly feel as if you've listened to it for always? Well that's how I first felt when I played this CD. It grabbed me in a way the four other CD's I'd got that week just didn't do. In fact if you asked me what were the other's I'd bought at that time I'd be hard pressed to be able to tell you.
