Advantages: Contains classic artists such as Odyssey, Brothers Johnson and Diana Ross Disadvantages: Is a populist take on the disco era.
...This album is a broad yet typical retrospective of the commercial side of the disco era. Staples of the disco scene such as Chic and Earth, Wind & Fire feature here, yet in their most famous incarnations as opposed to the music that changed the face of the dance underground forever.
There are rare stand out moments such as the highlighted Brothers Johnson classic 'Stomp' and Diana Ross's Chic penned athem 'Upside Down' however, overall this album is a good album for those that think of disco as a Car Wash style flares and afro 'Good Times' party. It's not for the connoisseurs of disco for whom any one of the Larry Levan or Joey Negro compilations would be better suited....

Advantages: 3 Disks, 60 Tracks Disadvantages: Some Good Music / Some Bad
...The Best Disco in Town CD. I bought this cd in ASDA about a month ago and the reason it had attracted my attention was because it had artists on that i liked such as The Jacksons and Kool and the Gang. What also attracted my attention was that the package included 3 cd's with 60 tracks on. Some of the tracks i had never heard before listening to this cd and some i just had to switch because the didn't match my taste in music however most of the i liked. The cd includes 60 track which are listed below:
Disc One
1. Good Times-Chic
2. Car Wash-Rose Royce
3. A Night To Remember-Shalamar
4. Disco Inferno-The Trammps
5. Young Hearts Run Free-Candi Staton
6. You Sexy Thing-Hot Chocolate
7. He's The Greatest Dancer-Sister Sledge
8. Boogie Wonderland-Earth, Wind And Fire & The Emotions
9. Blame It On The Boogie-The Jacksons...

Advantages: amazing compilation of songs Disadvantages: a few not to my taste, only a bare amount
...A wonderful collection of purely acoustic songs. Inlucding the likes of James Blunt, David Gray, Maroon 5, Eva Cassidy, Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley and many more.
Included in the album are two seperate cds, each as good as each other i especially like the fact there are 19 tracks to each cd which brings the total number of tracks to 38.
The only downside could be that there were a few songs that i didnt recognise but have grown to like through various listens.
An amazing compilation of tracks including information on variousartists albums whose tracks are includded on the cd.
I would definitely recoommend this album as it had enhanced some very nice emotions and created a very calmly atmosphere for either daytime or before you hit the hay.
A stunning collection of today's finest singer songwriters!...
