...The Music
This is the first of two albums of Schubert?s Lieder composed for piano and voice. Schubert composed the music to the work of such classical poets including, Goethe, Collins and Shakespeare.
Each Lied tells a story of its own. The lyrics are sung in German but a translation is included in the cover.
I won't give a track by track listing of the CD as this is easily available but will mention some of my personal favourites.

A playful a cheerful tale of a trout's journey through a stream. Most people will know and love Schubert's piano quintet also entitled The Trout.

Advantages: A convincing performance of a neglected symphony Disadvantages: Soloist in accompanying songs
...work, harks back to the earlier, pre-Hollywood Korngold, the wunderkind who encapsulated the late romantic styles of Mahler and his successors, Zemlinsky, Schreker and Kurt Weill. The Abschiedslieder that precede the Symphony on this CD come from this period in his life. The characeristic feeing of 'longing', especially in the first and third songs, comes from a long tradition in German romanticism. Returning to the Symphony, Korngold demonstrates his ability to write memorable tunes, whikle observing the strict architecture of the traditional, Beethoven, symphony: four movements, with a Finale that wraps the whole thing up confidently and positively after the stresses and strains of the previous movements.

...Als ich mir Napster vor ein paar Wochen downgeloadet hatte war ich erst nicht begeistert. Irgendwie war alles durcheinander und ich hatte überhaupt keinen überblick.
Doch als ich mich näher mit der Suchmaschine für Mp3s beschäftigt habe hatte ich endlich geschnickt wie geil das Gerät doch eigentlich ist.
Das Design finde ich nicht so toll, aber der Rest ist Superklasse. Sehr gelungen ist die Unterteilung der Download Geschwindigkeiten. Da sieht man gleich wo`s am schnellsten geht.
Napster sucht die Mp3s nicht im Internet sondern bei den Usern. So kann es passieren das mal ein Lied nicht gefunden wird das passiert aber eher selten. Man sollte es dann einfach später noch mal probieren.
Natürlich ist Napster auch ein Mp3 Player. Man kann seine downgeloadeten Lieder gleich anhören. Man kann sie auch während des Downloads auch gleich...
