Where are the tunes guys? What happened to the catchy riffs that made your songs instantly recognisable? There are more questions than answers on this album - the most pressing being - 'What has happened to Massive Attack' Massive Attack's albums are great listening experiences (before this one) - in particular Mezzanine. And their singles (before the singles from this album) were very memorable - most noticeably Teardrop - from Mezzanine. On ...
...sounds so 'samey'. Massive Attack are great at creating soundscapes - and that is something they have achieved very well on this album as well. The problem with this album - is that there is not a lot on top of those soundscapes - it's all very well doing sound design - but you have to have something that interest the ears - otherwise this music might as well be lounge music. Advantages: A fun mixxed bag of genre blurring tunes
Disadvantages: Still not quite brilliant

As with all freestylers work, its hard to put a genre on it. This album is exactly the same as this. Mixxing heavy guitars, dance influenced samples, heavy beats of hip hop and the computery oddness of industrial, this album will surely have a track for everyone. Coming in at just over an hour long (1:02.59) its a good long one in a market place flooded by an ever increasing amount of 40 minute albums that almost seem over before they've started. ...
...IN THE BEGINNING (2:23) A mix of samples and build up, this tune opens the album really well. At first I just skipped passed it feeling that nothing really happened, however then one day it was on and I was too far away from a skip button and realised this tune has a really good beat to it once it gets in, it kickc in at 1:23 of the song and can't help but get a bounce out of anyone. ...was then released in 2001called ALIVE 1997. Homework was a massive album so when i heard this album of one of their live sets was released i expected big things. And that is exactly what you get and much more, this whole recording is a twisted mix of tracks taken from the album Homework, tracks included in the mix are, Da Funk, Rollin' and Scratchin', Alive and im very sure there is more which i cannot make out. I did not really know what to expect ...
...wanting more. Then Alive kicks into play with its electronic sounds and distort bass lines you can just hear its sounds echoing and bouncing of the walls of the club which this preformance was heald in, there is then another build up with some vocals mixed in and the recording slowly fades out to its end where you will need a minute to take a breather. ...Daft Punk live on their Alive 2007 tour i wanted to buy this album to remind me of the fantastic time i had. This is such a brilliantly mixed and recorded album. The mixes are amzing especially Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger / Around The World, the crowd makes it sound even better as you can hear the reaction when the mixes start to happen. ...is the drum n bass in this album? Unless I'm mistaken, one of the tracks on here is guitar based and could be classed as a rock song. Nothing against rock but if I wanted a rock song I'd have bought one. Annoying synthesizer most of the way through, half hearted feeble bass line when there is one at all.
