Can You Kick It
Review of Anthology - A Tribe Called Quest by
Cozmikal
Advantages: Timeless tracks from one of the legends of Hip Hop, Bonus CD with excellent remixes
Disadvantages: None
...the individual tracks.
The Anthology features songs from each of the groups five commercially released albums, as well as various B Sides and songs taken from soundtracks. The album also features Q-Tips second solo single - 'Vivrant Thing'. Collectively this culminates in 19 tracks, lasting all 74 minutes of the CD, ensuring that the listener gets more than their moneys worth. To help make things even better, included with the album is an unadvertised ... ...fan of these genres, The Anthology is still an excellent addition to any musical collection, if only for the influence and its prestige as a true classic. This album may not have the seem feel as the classic 'The Low End Theory' or 'Midnight Marauders' but for a Greatest Hits it truly does excell itself in every possible category. ...

Ayo! Keep It Down!!
Review of Golden Grain [PA] - Disturbing Tha Peace by
XICripZ
Advantages: Consistant quality
Disadvantages: No big single
"Golden Grain" is the debut album by the Southern Rap record label, Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP), which is owned by the Atlanta rapper Ludacris. It came out towards the end of 2002 (in between the release of Ludacris' second and third albums, "Word Of Mouf" and "Chicken-N-Beer" respectively). This album showcases the talent of everyone from his label, all of which come out with the style which Luda brought to the mainstream; Southern Rap, and in particular ... ...has the group working together on collaborations with each other, but also has other guests such as Too $hort, Scarface and Twista. At the time the label had the following artists signed up to it: Playaz Circle, Shawnna, Lil' Fate, I-20 as well as some lesser known artists and they all get a chance to show off what they have to offer before going into solo work with the label.
1. "Break Sumthin'" (feat. Ludacris, Shawnna, Lil' Fate, Tity Boi, I-20)

Review of Tical 0 (The Prequel) [ECD] - Method Man by
DJ_primo
Advantages: Nice guest rappers like Ghostface and Raekwon turn up at AFTERPARTY and THE TURN respectively.
Disadvantages: The lyrics from Method man are disgusting and the musical production is revolting! SAY WHAT?
...THE WU TANG CLAN ALBUMS: TICAL 0: THE PREQUEL The Method Man Album Collection - Part I

Rock It. Don't Stop it.
Review of Planet Rock - Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force by
XICripZ
Advantages: Pure and original
Disadvantages: Long tracks
Released in 1986, "Planet Rock" is the debut album release for Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force. The title for it comes from the first single, which launched their careers. Obvioulsy, looking at the year we are looking at very early Hip Hop, as the genre only came about as a proper style in the late '70s. Baambataa was a pioneer in making the Hip Hop movement get to the stge where it could be actually be recorded, rather than be listened to ... ...to do to make his music appeal to those who help Hip hop on it's way out of New York, and to a wider audience.
1. "Planet Rock"
As the title track from the LP, and breakthrough in many ways (for Hip Hop, Afrika Bambaataa, Elctro-Funk, ect.), "Planet Rock" has to be considered one of few tracks in Hip Hop history which you couldn't dispute having it considered to be a classic. The beat which is brought was so simple, yet so original at the time, ...

Now Hit The Dance Floor
Review of Beat'n Down Yo Block [PA] - Unk by
XICripZ
Advantages: All the dance tracks are of the highest quality
Disadvantages: Lyrics aren't the best
...1. Intro
2. Beat'n Down Yo Block
I felt that there were similarities between this track and others which artists from the region have come out with. The closest track to it for me is Jibbs' "King Kong", as these both refer to the booming sound which their cars make as they enter a neighbourhood. I felt that it was a good way to introduce the album as Unk tells you that the LP should be played so the whole street can hear it. **Four Stars**
3. ... ...heard from Unk, way back in 2006, and as I had just got into the Snap form of rap after hearing a little Soulja Boy and Dem Franchize Boyz, this played up to exactly what I wanted to here; a big dance track from Atlanta. it seems as though if you make a dance rap track in any of the big southern cities of the US, and accomplany it with an actual dance; , you are bound to do well. This is the case with this track as it blew up the clubs in the Dirty ...
