The greatest hits of Mr Ladies Love Cool J
Review of All World - LL Cool J by
SpecialD
Advantages: Holds some of his best loved hits
Disadvantages: Miss's out on some gems present in albums like "Mr Smith"
Overall, a really strong compilation of hits. The CD begins with "I Can't Live Without My Radio", which elevated him to mini superstar status as a young teen. When you first play the CD, you remember the raw energy LL had at the beginning of his career, however the CD could have included one or 2 live performances of his hits (no one rocks the bells like a young angry LL Cool J!!), though you don't mind so much hearing the soft melodies within his ... ...to the greatest hits formula, by containing most of his commercial releases, i.e. "Big Ole Butt" and "Mama Said Knock You Out", however, songs like "Make It Hot" off the "Mr Smith" album, and "Clap Your hands" off "Walking with A Panther", are sorely missed with an artist that has a catalogue of now 11 albums, you could expect his CD to be more than 16 tracks. However, the CD delivers the necessary hits in "Around the way girl" as well as at the ...

Murder Inc vs G-G-G GGGG Unit!
Review of Blood In My Eye - Ja Rule by
missixty
Advantages: It's an important part of modern hip hop history
Disadvantages: It's rage filled hate music
...a little more. For me, Blood In My Eye was essential. I had to make that album to come back and do R.U.L.E."
MURDER INTRO
Ja 'crying' about people saying mean things bout him! Best bit: Nothing.
THE LIFE FT HUSSEIN FATAL, CADILLAC TAH AND JAMES GOTTI
This has a great vibe to it, the beat is funky and everyone performs well. I was going into this album knowing this was supposed to be like Hate music and expected it to be a lot darker than this. ... ...Best bit: The end.
BLOOD IN MY EYE FT HUSSEIN FATAL
Ja fires out fierce insults at everyone from DMX to Dre, suggesting that the late rapper told him Dr Dre was gay; "Who the f*ck you callin' gay n*gga, must a been talk to Em' and "Dre", n*gga, pour out a little liqour, And rest in peace to "Tupac Shakur", cause you let us know that Dre was a queer before." The suggestion that Dr Dre's gay has been made before by Dr Dre's former NWA mate Easy E.

Bravehearts' lyrics cause a CARDIAC ARREST!
Review of Bravehearted [PA] - Bravehearts by
DJ_primo
Advantages: Nas' lyrical talent, Teedra Moses, Swizz Beatz's / Paul Poli's production
Disadvantages: Jungle and Wiz's rapping are of low standards / Weak-hearted, crappy beats and lyrics

INTRODUCTION In the past, Hip Hop fans have heard the Bravehearts rhyme and make guest appearances on Nas' albums, 'Nastradamus', 'Stillmatic' and 'God's Son'. ... ...better track comming from the BRAVEHEARTED album with some meaning and an average, but listenable production from Lil Jon (real name: Jon Smith). Lil Jon laced the dark, synthesized beats for BME Enterprises. Unfortunately his vocal input (i.e. chorus) gets kind of annoying as he yells '....QUICK TO BACK DOWN....' twice at every opportunity in the hook (i.e. chorus). (Oh and by the way did anyone know that Lil Jon used to be a geek and a nerd?) ...

Foxy Lacks Inspiration
Review of Chyna Doll [PA] - Foxy Brown (Rap) by
bigdiship-hop
Advantages: A couple of decent songs showcase the hungry Foxy of old
Disadvantages: The "Lil Kim" persona creeps in; far too many guests; boring on many levels
...second album. Then in 1999, Chyna Doll dropped into the mainstream. Fueled by the incredible sales of the hit single "Hot Spot", Foxy had appeared to be on top of the world again. Was she? In terms of single success... yes. But is the album any good and does it live up to Ill Na Na? Can she actually rap well without riding Jay's shoulder? All this and more... NEXT. The opening track "Chyna White" is unique because it manages to perfectly bridge the ... ...style combo of consistency on Chyna Doll that she possessed on Ill Na Na, then perhaps she'd be more respected as one of the best femcees in the game. Unfortunately, her hit ratio isn't exactly a positive one. It's become pretty much conclusive that Foxy is pretty mediocre by herself and needs Jay to write for her; at least, that's my view of it. While there are some standout tracks here, the album is just too boring to me to garner anything positive ...

Now Hit The Dance Floor
Review of Beat'n Down Yo Block [PA] - Unk by
XICripZ
Advantages: All the dance tracks are of the highest quality
Disadvantages: Lyrics aren't the best
...1. Intro
2. Beat'n Down Yo Block
I felt that there were similarities between this track and others which artists from the region have come out with. The closest track to it for me is Jibbs' "King Kong", as these both refer to the booming sound which their cars make as they enter a neighbourhood. I felt that it was a good way to introduce the album as Unk tells you that the LP should be played so the whole street can hear it. **Four Stars**
3. ... ...heard from Unk, way back in 2006, and as I had just got into the Snap form of rap after hearing a little Soulja Boy and Dem Franchize Boyz, this played up to exactly what I wanted to here; a big dance track from Atlanta. it seems as though if you make a dance rap track in any of the big southern cities of the US, and accomplany it with an actual dance; , you are bound to do well. This is the case with this track as it blew up the clubs in the Dirty ...
