Close To The Best
Review of Close To The Edge [Remastered] - Yes by
treemusicuk
Advantages: classic band line-up on top form
Disadvantages: very long, multi-part tracks-impenetrable lyrics
...on their next album, "Tales From Topographic Oceans", but Close To The Edge manages to hold itself in check. Each band member performs brilliantly on three brilliant Prog-Rock compositions, the production is perfect, the cover by Roger Dean is effective. Yes had been building up to this one. Enjoy it! ...

If You Only Buy 1 Early Genesis Album Make It This
Review of Genesis Live [Remastered] - Genesis by
mikeydred
Advantages: Five classic tracks in one place
Disadvantages: Nothing
...copyrighted by Peter Gabriel / Genesis (1973)
"4.30 pm. The tube train draws to a halt There is no station in sight Anxious glances dart around amongst the passengers as they acknowledge each others presence for the first time. At the end of the train, a young lady in a green trouser-suit stands up in the centre of the carriage and proceeds to unbutton her jacket, which she removes and drops to the dirty wooden floor. She also takes off her shoes, ... ...floral panties, dropping them all in a neat pile. This leaves her totally naked. She then moves her hands across her thighs and begins to fiddle around in between her legs. Eventually she catches hold of something cold and metallic, and very slowly she starts to unzip her body: working in a straight line up the stomach, between the breasts, up the neck. taking it right on through the centre of her face to her forehead. Her fingers probe up and down ...

Suprisingly good! Sawdust.
Review of Sawdust - Killers (The) by
Jade_star
Advantages: Amazing songs
Disadvantages: A few covers
I wasn't sure about buying this CD at first as I thought it would just be a collection of songs that weren't good enough to be put on the proper ablums. But after hearing one or two of the songs I soon realised that they were just as good as some of the songs on Hot Fuss and Sam's Town. As soon as I bought this Cd I started to fall in love with the rythems and lyrics, many of the songs I believe could have easily been accepted onto the original albums. ...

More To Jacksonville Than Fred Durst...
Review of Partie Traumatic - Black Kids (The) by
beach7jq
Advantages: Brilliant, Cute, Poppy Lyrics & Catchy Melodies.
Disadvantages: Reworked tracks sounded better on EP
After being featured in the Rolling Stones Top 10 for 2008, and the BBC's Ones To Watch list, Black Kids album was deffinatly one i was looking out for, and when i finally got round to buying and listening to the album, i was not disapointed! Carrying over tracks from the EP such as "Hit the Heartbrakes", "Hurricane Jane", "I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend...", and "I've Underestimated My Charm", already sets off the album to a great start with ... ...felt were good enough to live up to the hype surrounding the first EP. Regardless, i would say this is a album well worth owning, sing and dance along tracks like the fantastic single "I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend", aren't going to change your life, or make you want to get up off your sofa and make a difference, but this album will make you smile, dance, and set your day of to a great start. Deffinaty one of this years summer anthems. ...

Review of Pulley - Pulley by
ciao_rossi
Advantages: catchy, fun, funky
Disadvantages: none
...Punk with an edge then Pulley are the band for you and especially this album. This is a clean cut, fun album full of good sing a long tracks and a few really gems. Pulley are almost like a super group in the punk world, comprising of members of some really respected punk bands such as strung out, ten foot pole etc. The album opener 'Working Class Whore' sets the tone for the album, it is the type of song which you are already singing along to by ... ...album fires along at rapid pace like any good punk album does with some great songs along the way. 'Gone' being a personal favourite of mine which i have been listening to on repeat for the last two days and which prompted me to write this review. by the time you get to the pop punk anthem Dogs LIfe its almost all over but it leaves you wanting to skip back to the start and do it all again.
highly recommended for fans of bands like strung out, pennywise, ...
