Disadvantages: Initially hard to get into it

This is my favourite Tori album - and probably my favourite album ever. Tori herself says it might take you a bottle of red wine to get into it - and she's probably right! It's hard to get into - it took me a few months but it's well worth the effort - because you will hear new things in it every time you listen to it. It's dense, multi-layered, complex, beautiful, dark, sensual, raw, haunting and - I hestitate to use the word, but I think it's justified ...
...Sneeze, with its haunting drum loop; the subtle piano-led Not The Red Baron, and the sweeping orchestration of Marianne are perennial favourites but I love them all, to be honest. Each song has been important to me at some point - and in that way, it's an album that just keeps on giving! Advantages: Some very strong tracks, easy to listen to, catchy
Disadvantages: lyrics are somewhat cheesy, some songs sound like I've heard them before.

For me, their CDs never really have any truly weak tracks that I have to actually press skip for, they are all listenable at least. I'm surprised that it didn't get worn out and still remains in my car with the others that I listen to on a more regular basis. 'The Colour and the Shape' is the second Foo Fighters album which was released through Capitol Records in 1997. The album possesses the track 'Monkey Wrench' which seems to be quite a popular one with the vast majority of major fans of the band I've come across in the past; I personally do not derive much enjoyment whatsoever from listening to this one but still find this album to be hugely enjoyable and highly entertaining on the whole. ...music to begin this 'The Colour and the Shape' album with and I for one absolutely love it. This album possesses such incredibly well put together pieces of music as 'My Poor Brain', 'Everlong', and 'My Hero' also. I think of this bunch it would definitely have to be 'My Poor Brain' that appeals to me most here.
